Environmental enforcement

Andy, Robert and Wayne are Elmbridge environmental enforcement. They are the unsung heroes of Elmbridge. When there is a fly-tip on a lane in Claygate, when there are unauthorised encampments or moorings, when there is low level anti-social behaviour – we contact Andy, Robert and Wayne! They travel the borough either by electric car or ebike and gather the information, the photos and the statements needed for Elmbridge and our partners to take action.

Andy relays a typical Friday night for the environmental enforcement team:

“Working with the Elmbridge Community Safety Partnership*, we gather a list of activity or locations to be monitored. There may be specific areas of anti-social behaviour or general uniformed patrols that we undertake including evenings and weekends. We are the eyes and ears of the council and multi-agency partners and are always looking to prevent, detect, target or disrupt any illegal waste activity.  We also target fly-posting, fly-tipping, littering, abandoned vehicles, dog fouling, graffiti and make checks on the general cleanliness of our open spaces and streets across the borough.”

Elmbridge is a great place to live and work and with the help of our environmental enforcement team it will stay that way.
