New lease arrangements proposed for Hersham Village Hall

New lease arrangements proposed for Hersham Village Hall

Kingston Trampoline Academy interested in the hall

Update 6 July 2022: At the ICMDM meeting of 6 July 2022, it was agreed to defer the decision for four weeks, on a 10-year lease of Hersham Village Hall to the Kingston Trampoline Academy, to address comments brought to officers shortly before the meeting.

Elmbridge is pleased to welcome Kingston Trampoline Academy (KTA) to Hersham Village Hall, if approved at the Individual Cabinet Member Decision Making meeting on 6 July 2022.

KTA is a trampolining club focused on helping people of all ages to enjoy making the most of trampoline gymnastics, whether that’s for fun or striving to be the best in the world. Their trampoline classes, both recreational and athlete level, will help students to develop and to achieve their goals but most importantly to have fun in a safe and controlled environment.

They currently have locations in Kingston and Chessington and are looking forward to opening in Hersham in early 2023, pending planning permission and equipment installation.

The owners of KTA are Andrew and Michael Freeman originally from Walton-on-Thames, both Master Gymnasts who are highly experienced and accomplished at world championship level competition. The brothers want to bring their success to Hersham and the rest of Elmbridge, as they encourage residents of all ages and abilities to find the joy and benefits of trampoline gymnastics.

This is a club determined to be an asset to the Hersham community right in the centre of Hersham; it aims to be accessible to all.

For those wondering if Hersham Village Hall will be available for hire, KTA are open to hiring one of the 1st floor rooms if schedules allow.*  Next door, the Hersham Centre for the Community continues to be available to hire for classes and events.

KTA is another addition to Hersham which has also recently welcomed Bisou Boutik (clothes boutique), Gallery Aura Fay (Vintage goods and gifts) and BladeRunner Revolution (barbers) to the village.

Coronation Recreation Ground in Hersham will also the new home to Abel Karate Club, plus a new café - Coffee in the Park –which aims to be open in the next few months.

*Any hiring arrangements will be directly via KTA and not Elmbridge Borough Council.
