Increasing biodiversity and helping woodland regeneration
Woodland management works update
Our the Countryside Team and contractors are busy clearing 75% of the undergrowth and removing holly from Weybridge Heath to allow native plants to grow and improve public access.
To increase biodiversity and help woodland regeneration they are also removing a third of the canopy to let light through.
Hamish White, our Countryside Officer, explains why these woodland works are taking place and what their long-term benefits are for bio-diversity.
