New electric vehicle charging points in Hollyhedge Road car park
In another step towards a sustainable Elmbridge, four fast 11-22kW electric vehicle charging points are now available at the Hollyhedge Road car park in Cobham. Each twin charger provides a maximum 22kW to one vehicle, or 11kW to two vehicles when both sockets are in use.
Councillor Peter Harman, Portfolio Holder for Transport, is delighted these chargers have been installed: “We want to give residents more options and more reasons to consider an electric vehicle. Adding these electric vehicle charging points to our Hollyhedge Road car park in Cobham is another step along that journey to reducing carbon emissions and improving our local air quality.”
Future projects
We are working with to install chargers at other council car parks. The programme for the next 2 years includes:
- Churchfield Road car park, Weybridge
- Civic Centre car park, Esher
- Drewitts Court car park, Walton-on-Thames
We are also working with local partners to help expand the network of electric vehicle chargers in Elmbridge.
This is part of our work to not only support our residents with sustainable travel, but to also reduce our own carbon footprint. This includes giving employees access to electric cars (ecars) and an electric bike (ebike) for their enforcement, investigation and assessment work around the borough.
