Community partnership in action
Painshill has been blown away by the generosity and passion of our supporters
Painshill was created in the 18th century as a living work of art and is one of the finest examples of the English Landscape Movement. However, one of the vital access routes through the park, The Woollett Bridge, had become unsafe due to years of rising flood water.
An appeal was launched to restore the bridge and together the local community and the Elmbridge Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) fund provided the necessary support to restore The Woollett Bridge.
Once again visitors can enjoy the stunning views of Painshill as planned by Charles Hamilton.
