Love Elmbridge at Christmas

Love Elmbridge at Christmas

Supporting our local economy and the local community

We are putting on our Christmas jumpers and getting ready to celebrate Christmas in Elmbridge with Love Elmbridge at Christmas.

The four festive garlands of Love Elmbridge at Christmas are:

  1. Free parking town centre parking on 3 December to support our local high streets.
  2. Small Business Saturday on 3 December
  3. Love Elmbridge at Christmas
  4. Sustainable Elmbridge at Christmas

Councillor Robin Stephen, Portfolio Holder for Enterprise and Local Economy is excited to see the borough in all its festive glory over the next few weeks:

“Love Elmbridge at Christmas is all about celebrating our fabulous local businesses and retailers helping Elmbridge to thrive. Yes of course you can buy gifts online, but our local retailers could very well have that special gift that will widen the eyes and extend the smile of your loved ones. Making it easier to shop local, we will pick up the parking charges in town centre car parks on 3 December.”

Love free parking

We will be supporting our local economy and the local community with free town centre parking in council car parks on Saturday 3 December. This is your opportunity to come to your local high street, catch up with friends, support local businesses as part of your Christmas celebrations and we will cover your parking costs.

Town centre and commuter car parks will also be free of charge on the following dates: Christmas Day, Monday 26 December, Tuesday 27 December, Sunday 1 January, and Monday 2 January.

Love Small Business Saturday, 3 December

Our small businesses are vital to our high streets and villages and to community life. On 3 December we will celebrate their contribution and their customer service. We will be shouting about the “brilliant and friendly” service of Williams & Bunkell in Claygate and the “great selection and knowledge of products” of Weybridge Sports for example, across our social media channels. If any local small business has offers specific to Small Business Saturday let us know and we will amplify your promotion. Email: communications@elmbridge.gov.uk.

Love Elmbridge at Christmas

Love Elmbridge at Christmas brings together all things festive in Elmbridge, from Christmas lights displays around the borough, to festive markets, to local business promotions and of course the Christmas appeals of our local charities. Our social channels and Love Elmbridge at Christmas webpages will be like Santa’s workshop filled with all things Christmas.

Love Sustainable Elmbridge at Christmas

Our commitment to a Sustainable Elmbridge doesn’t diminish at Christmas. We will be encouraging residents to shop local, to take advantage of our fabulous farmers markets and to make their own trees decorations.
