Don’t miss out on Rethink Waste
Waste reduction ideas
Have you looked at the Rethink Waste platform? It’s full of useful tips, ideas and information to help you make simple steps towards more eco-friendly and sustainable living.
Each week Rethink Waste provides members with new tips to help reduce their waste and protect the planet.
In May, the focus was food waste. Members were reminded that bread is one of the most commonly wasted food items. Did you know that three slices can increase your carbon footprint by 250g? Here are just a few ways members were encouraged to rescue those three slices from their food waste bins:
- Pop them in the freezer for another day
- Use the stale parts as croutons in a salad
- Make bread and butter pudding
- Feed the birds
